Film Experience Project
The Film Experience Project supports an ongoing class with an archive of some 100 video clips related to the history of narrative film, including many major works. The primary focus of the archive is on American cinema, but secondary attention is paid to works drawn from other great national traditions, such as those of France, Italy, and Japan. Students can work at their own pace, watch selected clips repeatedly, zero in on elements of interest, and comment on what they find. The Film Experience Project also provides a forum for students to exchange ideas about editing styles, camera work, lighting, and other topics.
