España de Cerca
España de Cerca is a web-based project on Spanish life and culture. Centered on a collection of video interviews with 15 people from Madrid and southern Spain, the archive enables Spanish language students to hear a variety of accents and regional expressions while exploring such issues as education, work, family life, youth, women’s roles, tradition, and change in contemporary Spain. There is no set path through the material; students can choose to listen to varying views on a particular issue or to an entire interview, hearing one person’s views on multiple topics. The site is cross-referenced by topic and annotated with vocabulary glosses. Links give students easy access to related online materials.
