Tories, Timid, or True Blue?

The Tories, Timid, or True Blue project will create an online educational program that allows greater public access to the Old North's archival collection using carefully selected and digitized documents. Through this interactive educational program, the Old North Foundation will stimulate critical historical thinking by raising questions about what history is, how it is constructed, and who gets to have a say and why. In addition, the program will make the archives broadly available to scholars interested in doing research on the history of the Church to help build the limited body of scholarly work that currently exists relating to the site. The project will be accessible from a proposed education space for students and visitors at the Old North Church while online access to the project will allow for exploration of Old North's history by students who cannot visit the site in person. This project has been initiated by the Old North Foundation, and is being realized in collaboration with the MIT HyperStudio and Myriad Inc. with generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
